Currently reading: The Child Bride

I knew from the start that Zeena's story was going to be different.
I also knew she was hiding something.
It wasn't until she broke down sobbing that she was finally able to tell me
what had happened to her, and I'll never forget it.

Cathy Glass, international bestselling author, tells the shocking story of Zeena, a young Asian girl desperate to escape from her family.

When 14-year old Zeena begs to be taken into care with a non-Asian family, she is clearly petrified. But of what?

Placed in the home of experienced foster carer Cathy and her family, Zeena gradually settles into her new life, but misses her little brothers and sisters terribly.

Prevented from having any contact with them by her family, who insist she has brought shame and dishonor on the whole community, Zeena tries to see them at school. But when her father and uncle find out, they bundle her into a car and threaten to set fire to her if she makes any more trouble. Zeena is too frightened to press charges against them despite being offered police protection in a safe house.

Eventually, Cathy discovers the devastating truth from Zeena, and it seems there is little she can do to help her.

MISSING: TWO YOUNG GIRLS FROM THE
SAME NEIGHBORHOOD.
Ashley Pond was only twelve years old when she vanished from a school bus stop in a town south of Portland, Oregon. As a shocked community came together and police began a frantic search, another tragedy was just about to take place.

SO CLOSE TO HOME...
Miranda Gaddis was Ashley's best friend. Just two months after Ashley's disappearance, Miranda was on her way to school when she, too, was abducted. Nobody knew the scandalous, unspeakable secret that the two girls shared... except for one man who lived just one block away.

UNTIL A HEROIC GRANDMOTHER BROUGHT
A KILLER TO JUSTICE.
The police and FBI managed to overlook the girls' neighbor whose daughter was a friend of Miranda and Ashley's - and who had a catalog of sexual-assault allegations behind him. Author Linda O'Neal was a private investigator intimately involved in this shocking case. Now, she and her co-authors - also participants in the case - tell the chilling story of one town's devastating loss... and how the murderer was finally found.

Adaptable. Dependable. Good at clearing up mess.
Being a mum is perfect training to run the country..

When Sam, Jackie and Anna successfully campaign to save their lollipop lady,
a TV reporter asks them if they fancy standing in the general election.

I've lost it. :(

The only thing in the world I wasn't supposed to lose.
My engagement ring. It's been in Magnus's family for three
generations. And now, the very same day his parents are coming,
I've lost it. The very same day. Do not hyperventilate, Poppy.

Stay positive!! :)

A couple of glasses of bubbly with the girls and Poppy's
life has gone into meltdown. Not only has she lost her
engagement ring, but in the panic that followed, she's lost her
phone too. When she spots an abandoned phone in a bin
it seems it was meant to be... Finders Keepers!

Except the phone's owner, elusive businessman Sam Roxton,
doesn't agree. He wants his phone back, and doesn't appreciate
Poppy reading all his messages and wading into his personal life.
Can things get any more tangled?

'I could kill them for what
they've done to me.'

I said those words. And I meant them at the time. But what
would you do, what would you say if your husband was accused
of something terrible and the accuser is someone you
trusted with your life?

That doesn't mean I wanted this to happen. I didn't want anyone
to get hurt. And I didn't want to be scared that every knock on
the door is going to be the police, coming to take me away.
What's going to happen to my children?
What's going to happen to me?

My name is Tamia Challey and
this is my story.

ON MARCH 2, 1998, TEN-YEAR-OLD NATASCHA KAMPUSCH
WAS SNATCHED OFF THE STREET BY A
STRANGER AND BUNDLED INTO A VAN.....

Hours later she found herself on the cold floor of a fifty-square-foot dungeon in a house that would be her home for the next eight years. When she emerged from captivity in 2006, having survived one of the longest abductions in recent history, her childhood had come and gone.

Now Natascha Kampusch tells her extraordinary story for the first time. She was starved, beaten, and treated as a slave, sleeping in a dungeon-like basement and being forced to work for her deranged tormentor. But she never forgot who she was - and she never gave up hope of returning to the world. She writes about how she refused to surrender to despair, and how she learned to manipulate her captor and managed to escape.

Ultimately, Natascha's account of her experience is about the triumph of the human spirit, and how, through an ordeal of almost unbearable hopelessness, she emerged against inconceivable odds - with her heart and soul intact.

Currently reading: 52 Reasons To Hate My Father

COMING-OF-AGE IN FRONT OF AMERICA has never been easy for famous
teen heiress Lexington Larrabee. The tabloids love portraying her as the
spoiled, bratty princess who has a knack for landing herself in trouble
(her most recent cover-story debacle was crashing her brand-new Mercedes
convertible into a convenience store on Sunset Boulevard). And even though
it's true Lexi has never worked a day in her life and has the world at her
fingertips, she's never had the one thing she really wants - her father's love.

But on her eighteenth birthday, Lexi's world is turned upside down when her
ever-absent father decides to take a more proactive approach to her life. If she
wants to receive her beloved trust fund, she will have to take on a different
low-wage job every week for a year. It's bad enough that she has to work as a
maid, a dishwasher, and a fast-food employee, but now her father has assigned
Luke, the annoying, albeit moderately attractive, college intern, to keep tabs
on her. And now that Lexi has fifty-two reasons to hate her father, will this
heiress learn she really only needs one reason to love him?
